A WORD ABOUT OUR FEES

Fees have traditionally been hard for professional counselors to discuss. It certainly appears on the surface that the counselor and the client are sitting on different sides of the dollar. But, it isn’t that simple.

Our practice has been here since 1981, and we plan to be here at least another thirty years. We are building careers, not occupying jobs. There is a difference; please let us explain.

Our number one resource in building a career is the clients that we serve. We know that people who go to a doctor and believe they received excellent service for a fair price refer their friends and relatives to that doctor. We know that you will send us many people, so we definitely do better in all aspects by doing a good job for you. This is a double edged sword, however. While we don’t want you to stay in counseling past what is beneficial, we also don’t want you to leave before you are ready, because then you don’t maintain your achievements. So, we are obviously on the same team.

That being said, we realize that some people will believe our fees to be high. We have analyzed this and worked closely with our accountant. The bottom line is: If we cut our fees, we will also have to cut our services. When Dr. Potter went into practice in 1981, he had to make a decision--quality service or cheap fee! The decision at GPA has been made. We would rather explain a higher fee one time--than to apologize for poor quality service--forever.

YOUR EXTRA BENEFITS:

1. You will have your own treatment plan individually prepared, which is reviewed with you for accuracy and approval of the goals. Therefore, you and your counselor are starting with the same goals in mind.

2. To assist you in getting ready for your appointment time, you are provided a private reception room prior to your session.

3. You are invited to come in ten minutes early for your appointment. This gives you time to sit in the reception room, relax and unwind from your hectic world.

4. There is a yellow pad and pen provided in the reception room. If you want, you may make notes about the issues you want to discuss, so you will be better prepared for your session.

5. We offer coffee, tea, or purified drinking water for clients choice.

6. If you are using health insurance benefits, we file all of your insurance claims for you.

7. We track your progress and keep an open line of communication--your success is important to us.

8. At your request we offer, free of charge, communication with other health care providers to keep them abreast of your work with us, or for them to help us develop your treatment plan.

9. We also maintain our own growth and educational development by belonging to professional associations, seeking higher certifications, and attending educational seminars.
